williamsroom Review #3 – Ridgewood Wine & Beer Company
Company: Ridgewood Wine & Beer Company
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Mission: Ridgewood Wine & Beer Company is locally owned and operated by Patrick King & Jason Kaczor. With a combined 30+ years in the wine business and a love affair with beer that began years ago we wanted to create a place where both could coexist. The store features a carefully chosen selection of over 1500 wines and 400 different bottled beers catering to the casual drinker as well as the serious collector. In addition to our bottled selections we offer twelve wines by the glass and sixteen different beers on draft. We strive to offer excellent customer service and competitive pricing to fit any budget.
Website: (https://www.ridgewoodwineandbeer.com) The website provides basic information about the company. It is a minimalistic page that is easy on the eyes with a clean layout. The website offers the DigitalPour menu board with real-time tap levels, which is helpful for anyone who wants to browse their selection before making the trip. The website is fairly basic, which is why it could contain more features such as order online with pickup delivery. It would also be nice if the website had current stock levels of their available bottled craft beer. Overall, the website mirrors their professional craft beer enthusiast atmosphere by bringing craft beer enthusiast, and wine enthusiast together under one roof.
Reviewed: Craft Beer Selection
Price: Depends on the beer you select, this is craft beer so you should expect to pay more with the lowest 12 oz. pour at $4 and the highest at $7. Ridgewood also offers a 6 oz. pour, which replaced the flight option. Furthermore, Ridgewood also offers 32 and 64 oz growlers. If you are looking to get a growler you may want to consult their DigitalPour menu board through the DigitalPour Application. I would suggest this because not every tap will have the growler option available. This is done to ensure that coveted brews can be enjoyed by more people.
Features: Real-time Digital Menu Board hosted by DigitalPour, 16 taps, friendly staff, and all tips go to a local charity which rotates monthly.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere at Ridgewood Wine and Beer Co. is angled toward the professional craft beer enthusiast. It is a place that evokes minimalistic tenets while being a place of casual, and professional conversation. The atmosphere is well maintained, with an inviting edge that is sure to impress. If you are looking for the latest craft beers Ridgewood is always at the fore-front with its evolving selection of craft beers.
Verdict: I have been a loyal Ridgewood Wine & Beer Company supporter from the beginning. Ridgewood also has one of the best rotating selections of craft beer in Raleigh. So, if you like craft beer this is a great place to enjoy it. The location is primo, and the parking is great. Overall, the selection speaks for itself, and the owners are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.
TL;DR: Ridgewood has a tremendous craft beer selection, with a professional craft beer enthusiast atmosphere.
